Brett and I took the girls to Minnesota's North Shore over Labor Day weekend, and it was such a joy to introduce them to a beautiful place we love so much. We mainly stayed in Duluth, and maybe next time we will have more opportunities to venture even further north.
I let the girls pack their own suitcases (well, I checked to ensure they had the necessities), and they felt so grown up and proud. Once we got to our hotel, I discovered just how many dolls and toys they had brought. haha!

| Our kids cannot handle long car trips. It was rough at times, but we made it!! Stella even asked Brett why we just couldn't have flown there. |
| We booked a family suite, so they got their room and our room adjoined theirs. |
| We all four enjoyed the pool and hot tub immensely! |
| Tired |
| Sometimes fish and chips just hits the spot! |
| They were so impressed by this little fountain by the hotel sign |
| Lounging before our boat ride |
| After the boat ride, we made s'mores lakeside at the hotel. |
| Breakfast the next day |
| While Brett ordered us some coffee... |
Exploring at Brighton Beach! They loved climbing all the rocks. Okay, okay, I also enjoyed climbing those rocks, too!
It was super warm, so when we got back we all took a refreshing dip in the hotel pool before heading out to explore Duluth.
| This little girl is a night owl and stays up way too late...one of the evenings, it was past 10pm, and Brett discovered her in Stella's bed (Stella was asleep), and she was eating veggie chips! She does this night-owl routine at home every night, too, not just when we are at hotels, but of course, it's worse when we're not at home. We were all pretty tired by the end of the trip. |
| Obligatory (but fun as always) visit to the Duluth Pack store! |
| A nice owner of a husky let the girls pet his dog in the Duluth Pack store |
| S'mores at PierB |
| So many beautiful dogs hanging out in Duluth over the holiday weekend |
| ...including this Great Dane! |
I can't wait to take the girls back next year (maybe?) and take them to Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, etc.
