two harbors: part 1

Brett and I enjoyed a weekend away November 9-11 in Two Harbors, MN. We loved our stay in 2010 at Larsmont Cottages so much that we decided to make the sophomore trip back this year. After dropping off Stella at my parents' on Friday, we set out for Minnesota's gorgeous North Shore. This time we rented a bigger space which included a fully-stocked kitchen, a gas fireplace, a roomy bathroom, a separate powder room, and a dining room table.

Brett made this shrimp pasta dish the first night; he also made some pesto and Gouda cheese bread appetizers.

So cold!

In spite of the cold, we stayed warm and cozy inside.

Brett made us several dinners and breakfast

Eggs and uncured bacon...breakfast of champions

My delish salad with raspberry vinaigrette

Brett's chicken and avocado salad and French onion soup

We drove up the road a little way to famous Betty's Pies; I chose blueberry, and Brett enjoyed a mixed berry slice. We of course ordered these puppies a la mode. Duh.

  1. That place looks really nice! The food looks delicious too; good job, Brett. We will have to get some of Betty's pies when we're there next weekend!
