and then she was 5

Our sweet Stella turned five years old on June 8th! We shared cake with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law. Earlier that day, she participated in her dance class's recital. She had so much fun performing! I teared up seeing her smiling face as she danced. She would really like to continue on with dance, and her next class would start in the fall when she starts kindergarten. I am still mulling over whether it's a good idea for her to do an extracurricular activity as she gets used to full-day kindergarten. I've read articles saying it's better to hold off until Spring to enroll them in extra stuff once they've transitioned to kindergarten. We'll see. :)

As you can see from her birthday presents, she has been on a Princess Belle kick lately even though she has never seen Beauty and the Beast. (side note: I didn't realize Disney holds back certain movies until the movie hits an anniversary and then they release it again!)

It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital, and now she is kindergarten-bound. She has such a sweet and pleasant nature, and I will miss our conversations throughout the day. She and Grace have become such good friends, and I know Grace will miss her, too. Okay, enough sadness! This family really enjoys our Stella Joy, and I'm so grateful for the long summer ahead of us to absorb every moment we can get with her.
