brett is going to join me, too. he may take a more modified route as he sometimes has meals out for work, but when he's home, he'll definitely hold to a paleo diet. this week i am scouring pinterest for paleo/whole30-friendly meals because i'm the type of person who enjoys a higher success rate if i have a plan in place.
we were going to start whole30 this monday, because we had plans to go out for our (8th) wedding anniversary (jan 7) tonight, but stella is sick, and brett is coming down with something, too. in addition, stella was going to spend the night at my parents' tonight so we could stay out later and sleep in and go out for breakfast and a movie the next day, but my poor parents are suffering from the flu. my dad missed the entire week of work because he was so sick, and now my mom has the same thing. they even both got flu shots! so we are pushing the anniversary celebration plans to next week, thus the whole30 start date gets moved back because come on, people, i want some chocolate, wine, and some crazy awesome food on my anniversary dinner date.
stella slept the whole night through, which was a 180-degree improvement from the night before when she woke up every two hours. she barely napped yesterday, too. she woke up at 8 this morning, cuddled with me, drank lots of water and had some cereal, and then fell asleep cuddling on my lap, so i laid her back down, and she has been sleeping ever since, and it's 11:52 a.m.! tired baby. at least she doesn't have a fever today, so that is another sign of improvement.
we're bummed our fun weekend plans got canceled, (i bought a new sequin skirt from francesca's that i was very excited to wear, but i still didn't have a top or shoes yet to complete the ensemble) but everything happens for a reason, and it's all good.
happy anniversary, brett! i love you!
