march!

happy march 1st! one more month of winter remaining. we can do this. the last time i posted, stella was sick and shortly before that, she wasn't napping. now she is better and back to napping, so i am feeling a lot more sane these days. one of the days this week she napped three hours, and all the other days she has napped two hours. glorious.

today she had an appointment with the pediatric ophthalmologist. while she has not regressed, he would like to see more improvement in her left eye, the one that is more farsighted and the one she uses less than her right eye. since she has hit somewhat of a plateau, he prescribed drops for me to put in her good eye once every two weeks. the drops will cause her right eye to dilate and thus become unfocused so that she will be forced to use her left eye more, thereby strengthening it. the dilation of her eye will last for up to 3 days after i give them to her! ugh. i'm not looking forward to doing this, but if it will help her, i will pray for grace, suck it up, and do it. she will go back in 2 1/2 months, and we'll see if the drops helped at all.

we had a pretty good week! sunday we went to southdale to take advantage of a men's sale at macy's. brett bought a new suit for which we got an amazing deal. stella enjoyed checking out a three-way mirror, riding the escalator, and sharing some frozen yogurt.

it was so nice going back to bsf on tuesday after having missed it the previous week because stella was sick. tuesday evening we went to my cousin andrew's minnetonka jv basketball game. stella had a blast hanging out with some of my other cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents. she was clearly in awe of the lindbergh center gym, the loud buzzer sound, watching people playing basketball for the first time, and watching the cheerleaders. she had fun with my uncle andy teaching her some basketball skills, and she enjoyed visiting with my aunts sara and sharon and my grandparents, marilyn and burt.

in addition to the game tuesday night, stella and i hung out at the library playroom on monday and wednesday, and visited my mom on thursday. while stella napped, i had some alone time at barnes and noble and then the mall to browse around and people-watch. we have a pretty busy weekend ahead of us, for which i am looking forward to, because the busyness is all about social fun now that our little girl is feeling so much better. yes, there are things to get done around the house, but we're not going to sweat it too much.

her love for hallmark is still going strong

i think she was pretending she was riding in brett's car because she said, "daddy's blue car! vroom! vroom!"
